The facts about local SIMs and roaming come from the sources below.
Coverage in Zurich, Geneva, Lucerne, Interlaken and the Alps
Switzerland has three national networks: Swisscom, Sunrise and Salt. 4G reaches almost the whole country, and 5G is strong in the cities and larger towns. The signal is weaker in the high mountains and in some remote valleys. Switzerland is not in the EU or the EEA, so EU roaming rules do not apply here.
The QR code shows on your order page and by email, seconds after payment. Save it before you leave the page.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, a full refund if the eSIM doesn't work and we cannot fix it. A working eSIM is not refunded because you changed your mind. Write to contact@europesim.eu with your order link.
Do I get a Swiss phone number?
No. Our plans carry data and do not come with a local number. Your home number stays on your phone.
Who sells the eSIM?
EuropeSIM is operated by LuKas Holdings sp. z o.o., Warsaw, Poland. We sell the plans ourselves. We are not a carrier.
Does an eSIM work in Switzerland?
Yes, on a phone that takes an eSIM and is not locked to a carrier. Our plans for Switzerland run 1 to 60 days and also cover 39 more countries.
When should I install the eSIM?
Install it while you are on Wi-Fi, so that you can scan the QR code and follow the steps. The plan page says when the days of the plan start.
Which network will I use?
The network shows on each plan before you pay, as soon as the store confirms it. Switzerland's national networks are Swisscom, Sunrise and Salt.
Do my apps work in Switzerland?
Yes. The eSIM gives your phone mobile data, so apps such as WhatsApp, Google Maps, SBB Mobile, MeteoSwiss, TWINT and Uber work as they do at home.
Where can I buy an eSIM for Switzerland?
Here, online, before you travel. Choose a plan on this page; you do not need to find a shop when you land.
How much does data cost in Switzerland?
Plans start at $4.99 for 1 GB - 5 days. For a week, 5 GB - 7 days costs $12.99. Unlimited data for a week costs $27.99.
Can I keep my own number?
Yes, on a phone that holds two lines. Your home SIM stays for calls and texts, and the eSIM carries the data. Turn off data roaming on the home line.
What do I do when I land in Switzerland?
Turn on the eSIM line and choose it for mobile data. The activation guide shows each step for your phone.
