Will your phone take an eSIM?
- 1

Dial *#06#
An EID in the list means the phone has an eSIM chip.
- 2

Check the lock
A phone locked to its carrier refuses other networks. Ask the carrier to unlock it.
- 3

Check the model
Some models ship without eSIM in certain markets. The list below shows the main ones.
Phones with eSIM
- Apple iPhone XS, XR and later. Most models sold in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao have no eSIM.
- Google Pixel 3 and later. Some Pixel 3, 3a and 4 models have no eSIM, depending on where they were sold.
- Other makers, such as Samsung: dial *#06# and look for an EID.
Not sure? Ask the maker or the shop that sold you the phone before you buy a plan.

Keep your own number
Most phones with eSIM hold two lines. Your home SIM keeps your number for calls and texts, and the EuropeSIM eSIM carries your data.
- Two lines on one phone: choose the eSIM for mobile data and keep the home line for calls and texts.
- Turn off data roaming on your home line, so that it uses no data abroad.
- WhatsApp, iMessage and other messaging apps keep your number, because they run on data.
Texts such as bank codes still reach your home line. Your home carrier may charge for texts and calls abroad.

The facts about local SIMs and roaming come from the sources below.
Coverage in Pristina, Prizren, Peja, the Rugova mountains and Brezovica
Kosovo has two national networks: Vala and IPKO. 4G covers most of the country, and 5G is available in Pristina and other larger towns. The signal is weaker in the mountains, such as the Rugova and Sharr ranges, and in some rural areas.

The QR code shows on your order page and by email, seconds after payment. Save it before you leave the page.

Yes, a full refund if the eSIM doesn't work and we cannot fix it. A working eSIM is not refunded because you changed your mind. Write to contact@europesim.eu with your order link.
- Do I get a Kosovar phone number?
No. Our plans carry data and do not come with a local number. Your home number stays on your phone.
- Who sells the eSIM?
EuropeSIM is operated by LuKas Holdings sp. z o.o., Warsaw, Poland. We sell the plans ourselves. We are not a carrier.

Yes, on a phone that takes an eSIM and is not locked to a carrier.
- When should I install the eSIM?
Install it while you are on Wi-Fi, so that you can scan the QR code and follow the steps. The plan page says when the days of the plan start.
- Which network will I use?
The network shows on each plan before you pay, as soon as the store confirms it. Kosovo's national networks are Vala and IPKO.

Yes. The eSIM gives your phone mobile data, so apps such as WhatsApp, Viber, Google Maps, Instagram and Bolt work as they do at home.

Here, online, before you travel. Choose a plan on this page; you do not need to find a shop when you land.
- Can I keep my own number?
